Where Socializing Is Serious Business

Whether you believe in the Law of Attraction, the Power of Intention, or in just having a visual representation of your goals having a vision board can be a great way to keep you focused and on track.

A vision or goal board is a visual representation of what you want in your life. You can create your "vision board" out of or on anything, it can be in a notebook, on a cork board, in a picture frame, taped to your bathroom mirror or your refrigerator, or even on your computer or in the virtual world. The most important thing is that you create it and put it in a location or locations that you will see on a regular basis to keep you focused.

Tips when creating a vision board:

I found these on http://lifevisionboards.com/create-a-vision-board/ and thought that they did a great job breaking it down. (I AM NOT ENDORSING THIS SITE...just found them in my internet trek)

Be Specific as Possible - The more detail you can provide, the better able your subconscious will be able to hone in on it’s target. Use pictures of yourself, your friends and family. Look for pictures of exactly how you envision your dream house to be or your next vacation. You can use your photos “as is” or include phrases on your pictures, by using imaging software like Photoshop or download free software like Gimp or Picnik.

The Who, What, When, Where of Your Dream Life - If you’re not sure what you want to manifest into your life, take some time to sit down with pen and paper and answer these three questions: Who do you want to be? What do you want? When do you want it? Where do you want to be? Find a place without distraction and honestly answer the questions without inhibition or fear.

Don’t Worry About the How for Now - Don’t get stuck on the method or “how” you will achieve your goals right now. Just work on programming your subconscious mind. The mind will then seek to solve the problem BUT keep your eyes and ears open to the new avenues that will be opening up to you.

Actively Pursue Your Dreams - Visualization is an incredible tool but you also have to take action. Action can be as simple as watching your streaming dream video, enrolling in a learning course or calling a friend. Things that you weren’t aware of before, may suddenly become apparent to you - calling you into action.

Cover All Your Bases - You’ll want to include as many picture as possible because the mind works on exclusion as well as inclusion. So if you don’t include, money as a goal or a friendship that you want to strengthen for example, then the mind may exclude it or diminish its importance.

Tools to help you create your vision board:

For tangible vision boards

Paper - You need to write down what you want and then find images to represent your desires.
A surface or Medium
Whiteboard, Corkboard, or Notebook
Scissors
Writing Tool

Marker or Pen
Tape, tacks, or glue,
Photo sources -

Photo Album or Magazine
Internet and printer

For virtual vision boards

Computer
Software

Writing (to type out your goals)
* Microsoft Word or PowerPoint
Photo (for viewing and storing your photos)
* Microsoft or Quicktime or comparable
* Photoshop or Paint for editing
Internet Access (not required but a great way to find photos)
Scanner (If you do not have internet access you can scan pictures into your computer)

There are many ways to create a vision board for your computer or web world, the only limitations are your imagination. There are quite a few companies that have software or online applications that you can use to create your goal board, most have a fee attached but in what you spend in money you will save in time.

Software and online applications that you can pay for:

For those that do not mind spending the time creating your board I have detailed two free ways to create a virtual vision board.

The Free way:

  • PowerPoint & Jing you can create a vision movie by putting pictures into PowerPoint, download some songs onto your computer if you want music, and join Jing a free screen capture application and community. You create the presentation with pictures and motivating words and or sayings, play the music while you scroll through the presentation, and record it with Jing.

  • Photos, Paint & Online Photo Sharing you can also create a vision slide show by using one of the photo sharing sites, stock image sites and/or your own photos, and a photo editing tool. Using photos you have on your computer or photos on the internet, PowerPoint or Paint to modify and add words or phrases, and an online photo sharing site like Photobucket or Slide.com you can create a slide show that can be put on any website.

I hope you found this information useful, if you know of other resources please let us know. If you have a vision board online somewhere please leave a link in the comments so we can check it out.

Oh I love this idea. I read about vision boards in "The Secret" and Jack Canfield's Success Principles, but I have yet to make one. I just need to stop putting it off, sit down one day and do this. This is definitely some inspiration to get me going!!! Thanks!

I'm happy to report that, yet another of the items on my vision board has come to fruition. I found a proper kitchen to do my work! Now I can take on additional business from caterers, wedding planners, hotels, restaurants, corporate gifts. Never mind the economy. I'm building a foundation here. When everythings stabilizes and gets back to normal, I'll be ready. I've always believed in vision boards. They bring things into perspective, offer a tool to help us take the necessary steps to realize our goals. Now, if I could just get back into my skinny jeans!

Here's mine. I added the number of chocolates I'd like to be selling per month as suggested by you during our call. My board has my chocolate business in there but also additional personal visions such as image, weight and such. Everything is tied in together.
