Get Smart Women Social Network

Where Socializing Is Serious Business

I'm starting to get a little more exposure across the internet. I have:

1.) My personal blog
2.) My weekly column at another online network (featured, dedicated front page space)
3.) My occasional publications at sites like DivineCaroline, etc.
4.) Some random exposure, which gets me very excited.

I'm pursuing a couple of freelance writing positions, and I know that having "clips" is very important. While the few places I can be found right now might not be the end-all, be-all for me, they are my starting points and I want to make sure I handle them appropriately.

So, my question is, which is better to promote? I recognize that anything that stands alone should get the attention, but if I "syndicate" pieces across these different platforms, should I limit my social media promotion to my personal blog, or should I occasionally mix it up, to offer the variety of exposure?

I really can't help because I only have my blog, although i also do get excited when I see links to my posts in random publications. I think it is great that you have a weekly column also. Do you get paid for it?

Nope, not paid at this time. I'm a member of this social network for women that has really become more social than anything else (which wasn't exactly the reason I got involved with it, but that's a whole other topic) and was contributing frequently with my own blogs and discussions on other blogs.

I got involved with a Mastermind Group there that included the site's owner/founder and through a chain of events (getting to know each other and revealing my relationship with movies) I ended up with a movie review slot on the home page. I'm committed to doing a 'feathermaye's Friday five' each week, but am free to do more (I do a "Did You Know" celebrity trivia bit sometimes, and sometimes review new movies) as my mood or schedule allows.

I also get to promote myself as shamelessly as I like, and that's pretty cool! ;)
