Let's face it. Most of us can do a better job at recycling. We seriously reassessed our rubbish in honor of America Recycles Day last week. But in case you did not, here is another incentive. How would you like to get paid to recycle? RecycleBank makes it easy. You sign up. They bring a bin to your front door. You fill it with recyclables. You get reward points that can be used at places such as Target, CVS, and Foot Locker, or for products made by Stonyfield Farms, Method, and Evian. “I am not a paper cup” from Décor Craft Inc. just makes me smile. Made from double-walled porcelain with a silicone top, the re-usable cup looks just like the landfill-bound "to go" variety — only it's dishwasher safe, environmentally conscious, and keeps your drink nice and toasty. The cups are officially sold out until late August, but rumor has it you may be able to find them on the shelves at LA's Kellygreen.

It is wonderful that this country has finally embraced the green movement. It is time that we understand the need to protect our planet. I think it’s great that we have added this to our site.

In high school, some of us had to carry around and "nurse" strange things like eggs and sacks of flour for days. The idea: to remember that parenting was hard. Valerie Auberger and her partner kind of channeled our health teachers when they created Pinky Tree. Their goal: to provide a living reminder for people to improve their carbon footprints. These keychain/cellphone charms are two-inch capsules that house a variety of baby cacti selected for durability and cuteness. You can keep them in the "incubator" for up to a year before they need replanting and only need to water them once or twice a month. Part of every sale goes toward American Forests reforestation.
