Where Socializing Is Serious Business

Hi gals!

I am doing a post on Thursday, December 11, 2008 on Christmas recipes and was looking for some great Christmas recipe ideas.

Here's where you come in... if you have a favorite recipe that is a family favorite and you don't mind sharing the recipe, I'll include it in my blog post with a link to your blog/website of course.

From appetizers, entrees, side dishes to dessert - I would love to hear your favorite recipe. So let's start cooking. :)

Thanks,
Donna

Bridget, this sounds soooo good. I may have to add this to my list of desserts this Christmas (I have homemade apple butter). This is the only time of the year I fix several desserts at one time. :)

Hi Donna,

MY most favorite Christmas recipe is a little tradition that I started years ago... it's totally NOT traditional, but everyone LOVES it!

Famous MUD PIE:

1 Bag Double Stuft Oreo Cookies
1 Stick of REAL butter
1 Carton of Dreyer's Rich &Creamy Coffee Ice Cream
4-6 Heath Bar Candy Bars

Throw the Oreos in a large ziploc bag...mash up so that they're like a bag of mashed graham crackers.
Melt stick of butter in a pan and stir in the entire bag of mashed Oreos.
Take a square metal or glass pan...Put the Oreo and butter mixture in it.
Then press mixture to create the base crust for your mud pie.
Put in freezer and allow to freeze for an hour.

Add the entire carton of ice cream on top of the frozen Oreo crust.
Break up Heath Bar Candy Bars into as small of pieces you would like...sprinkle on top of Coffee Ice Cream.

You're DONE!!!

***Thaw a little before serving...it can be a bit hard if you serve it immediately after taking out of the freezer.
MMMMMMMMM! Yummy!

ENJOY!

I think you need to make this immediately...it is December and I know your housemate would really appreciate it. You might want to make a double batch! :D
